Katarzyna Lorencik

I started my science journey in 2012 in the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology at Jagiellonian University. In 2017 I obtained a master’s degree in the topic of human astrocytoma cells. Then I decided to continue my education on doctoral studies at the Department of Molecular Biophysics, I am currently waiting for the Ph. D. defense. My research focused on bioenergetics of alternative complex III. I was also involved in other ongoing projects in the lab and obtained my own Preludium20 Grant (NCN) where I was studying electron transfer through heme cofactors. In 2022 I got an EMBO Scientific Exchange Grant for an internship at the York Structural Biology Laboratory of the University of York, Heslington, where I was learning the principles of cryo-EM analysis. Now I joined Glatt Lab hoping for new challenges. Apart from the lab, I like dancing and playing board games.
