Dr. hab. Sebastian Glatt from Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology, is one of the four scientists who received the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) Prize 2024. The award is granted for outstanding achievements and scientific discoveries.
The Foundation for Polish Science Prize is an individual award. It is awarded by the Foundation Council through a competition for exceptional achievements and scientific discoveries that push the boundaries of knowledge, open new cognitive perspectives, make an outstanding contribution to the civilizational and cultural progress of our country, and ensure Poland’s significant place in tackling the most ambitious challenges of the modern world.
Dr. hab. Sebastian Glatt received the award in the area of life and earth sciences for determining the structure and function of the Elongator complex, which affects the accuracy of protein biosynthesis. His research interests focus on nucleic acid metabolism, gene expression, RNA molecule modifications, and regulation of protein synthesis in cells.
The award ceremony took place on December 4, 2024, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
